There are plenty of products available on the market to treat hair problems, but why to spend more when you have nature’s best all-around treatment: yoga? Yoga exercises help maintain a great balance between soul and body, and also boost blood circulation, which results in healthy hair growth.
1. Anuloma Viloma
This yoga pose is helpful for hair growth, boosts lung function, and eliminates impurities from the skin and scalp. It aids in the prevention of skin disorders, depression, stress, insomnia, and increases brain health, all of which are the main reasons behind hair loss and graying.
a) Close your eyes and sit in padmasana.
b) Place your hands on the knees.
c) Close your right nostril with your right thumb and inhale as much as oxygen as you can via the left nostril.
d) Now release the thumb from your right nostril and exhale.
e) Similarly, repeat the process using middle finger for the left nostril.
f) Do this for about 5 minutes.
2. Kapalbhati Pranayam
This pose removes toxins from the air passage and cleanses mind and body, purifies the frontal portion of the brain, and enhances blood circulation, thus boosting hair growth and minimizing grey hairs.
a) Relax and sit with your eyes closed and spine straight in padmasana.
b) Deeply inhale using both nostrils and fill your lungs with fresh air thoroughly.
c) Now exhale forcefully via nostrils so that it creates pressure in your stomach.
d) Do this for nearly 5 minutes.
3. Sirsasana (Headstand)
This asana relieves stress, boosts blood flow to the scalp, and leads with the head to prevent hair fallout.
a) Bring your knees onto the floor.
b) Sit your hips on your heels.
c) Bend ahead and allow your forearms to rest on the floor.
d) Interlock the fingers of both hands.
e) Position the back of your head against the inside of interlocked fingers.
f) Place your head’s top on the floor.
g) Lift your knees off the floor while softly placing your toes on the floor. Elevate the heels.
h) Inhale and stay in this pose as long as you can.
i) Slowly exhale and sit back to normal.
4. Uttanasana (Stand forward bend pose)
This pose boosts hair growth as you put your head below your heart, allowing the heart to boost blood circulation to your scalp. It also alleviates anxiety, stress, and tension which are the main reasons behind hair loss.
a) Stand straight with your feet together.
b) Take a deep breath, extend your arms gradually up and exhale.
c) Bend forward and touch the floor or toe using your palms.
d) Remain in this pose and count five while breathing normally.
e) Slowly straighten your body back to normal while inhaling deeply.
5. Balayam Yoga (Rubbing nails)
Apart from hair loss, Balayam Yoga can also treat dandruff and stops graying hair. When you do this pose, the follicle’s roots linked to the fingernails supply energy to the hair scalp, and facilitate hair growth.
a) Curl your finger inside and bring your nails of both hands closer to each other.
b) Rub them together continually for nearly 5 to 7 minutes straight.
