Marshmallow root (Althea Officinalis or White Mallow) is an incredible herb that helps in soothing and relieving your scalp. It contains fatty acids, and lauric acid present in it promotes hair growth and nourishes hair. It’s an African herb that has been used by Egyptians Greeks, Indians, and the Chinese.
It also helps in treating hair loss, dry scalp, eliminate itchiness, etc. The oily substance contained in it when infused with other herbs provide natural shine to dull follicles, soothes dry scalp soften locks naturally. High mucilage content in it helps in detangling and conditioning it.
Tip 1: Hair Rinse
You Will Need:
a) 2 tablespoon marshmallow root
b) A few almond oil or argan oil drops
c) 2 cups water
a) Soak all the herbs in water for nearly 7 to 8 hours or all night.
b) Now combine the herbs with water in a stainless steel container.
c) Minimize the flame and simmer it for approximately 2 to 3 minutes.
c) Switch off the heat, cover the pot and leave it undisturbed.
d) Steep the mixture and cool it down.
e) Strain out the broth and use it on your hairs.
f) In case the water is hard, add 1 to 2 teaspoon lemon juice.
g) If your hair is damaged or dry, add 1 to 2 tablespoon of honey into the rinse.
How To Use It?
a) Apply the mixture on washed hairs.
b) Pour down the hair rinse and massage it over your scalp in a circular motion.
a) Soak locks in the mixture for at least 5 minutes.
b) Rinse it off with clean water and let the strands dry naturally.
How To Store It?
The best way to store the rinse is to freeze it. Use 2 to 4 cubes as per your hair length.
Tip 2: As A Shampoo
a) Firstly of all, boil marshmallow root in water for 15 minutes.
b) Strain out the liquid and add it to the conditioner.
Tip 3: Marshmallow Tea Rinse
Use marshmallow tea and gently massage it in the shower.
Tip 4: Marshmallow + Burdock
Marshmallow and Burdock are excellent for hairs.
a) Add one teaspoon each of burdock and marshmallow to 1 cup of warm water.
b) Consume it.
